One could only imagine how much better the world would be if everyone went out of their way to help others. Not only to help others but to do so without expecting anything in return. I’ve heard said that helping others is one of the most gratifying feelings that one could have and a sure fire way to obtaining true happiness. Happiness results because of the satisfaction one receives from helping others. I know this to be true because I have experienced this on more than one occasion.

Ever since moving to to the Thesis theme I have been far from happy with it, but have persevered because I paid good money for it and I wasn’t going to let it go to waste. I was so unhappy that I wrote a post comparing it to FlexSqueeze. One of it’s

greatest failings, apart from it’s lack of ease of use, was since the changeover I lost my smilies in the comment form, as well as the quicktags, something I had grown used to with my other blogs.

Anyway, the forums, which was supposed to be of great value, was of no use at all, and if it wasn’t for the help of Stefan Nilsson I would still be without my beloved smilies. In appreciation of all his help in getting my smilies back I dedicate this post to him as a way of showing everyone that the world is not all about bullshit, and if we all went out of our way to help others, rather than trying to rip them off for personal gain, the world would be a much better place.

Well, the numbers have been drawn and I truly hope that the winner  purchased a ticket from Oz Lotteries,via my$90 Million OZ Lotto Jackpot Up For Grabs post. Although I would love to have won the prize myself, just the thought that I was the instigator for bringing wealth, and hopefully joy to another person would leave me feeling pretty good about myself, especailly considering that the chance of winning Div 1 was 1 in 45,379,620!

In case you are wandering, this blog uses the Thesis theme, and it is the first theme that I ever paid money for, a whole $87.00. The reason I waited so long was I really wanted a theme that would work right out of the box. Not like the normal run of the mill theme that you had to know PHP and CSS to get it to do what you want.  This is what sold me on Thesis, from their home page.

Yep, I said to myself, that is what I want and so I bought it. Man was I disappointed. Sure it was better than most of the other themes I used, but then they were free and you expect to get a lot more features when you pay for something. The thing is that it wasn’t as completely plug and play as they made it out to be. To really get the most out of it you had to deal with Hooks; what the hell are HOOKS and why was there was no mention of this on their home page. A lot of the time you also had to deal with PHP and CSS and that was something I didn’t want to deal with.

They do have a forum for those having difficulties but I got tired of logging on, asking for help and then waiting for a reply. So the search for a better theme continued and after searching far and wide I finally found the FlexSqueeze Theme. This theme was as near perfect as I could hope. No coding knowledge required unless you really wanted to do something out of the ordinary. The following are just some of the things that FlexSqueeze can do.

• It has it’s very own image up-loader! Any image you want to incorporate into your new theme can be uploaded easily into the theme’s own image directory.

The thing is that this theme does it all, and if you have multiple blogs, just like yours truly, the FlexSqueeze Theme will make sure that every blog has it’s own uniqueness so you will no longer have to have multiple themes. I knew as soon as the Labor party won the election that it wouldn’t be long before they sent Australia back into the red. The reason I was so sure of it is because it has happened on so many occasions before, as it seems that every time Labor is in power Australia goes into debt. It must have something to do with the fact that they do not know how to properly manage the economy. Naturally they have the current world economic crisis to blame it on, and they always seem to be able to point the finger at the precious Government for all their current woes, but as far as I am concerned Rudd simply has not made the right choices.

Let’s start off with the $10billion cash handout he gave to many Australians, the idea being that it would boost the economy. The thing is that even if it does have an effect, that effect would only be short lived. Does he plan to throw away $10billion dollars every so often to keep the economy running. Apparently so as another injection is coming within the next few weeks. As far as I am concerned, this particular method can be likened to our Gobbledygook PM shoveling money down a bottomless pit.

According to Rudd the December cash splash worked because it because the December retail sale figures were up 3.8% as compared to the previous month. Hello! Christmas was just around the corner and one would assume that December figures are always greater then Novembers, especially as most people leave things to the last moment. Along with his gobbledygook Rudd seems to love pulling figures out of thin air to substantiate his party’s policies, but as far as I am concerned they are all full of shit.

I feel that the 20 or so billion dollars could have been better spent elsewhere. Perhaps it could have been utilized to build infrastructure, say to help save the Murray Darling Basin?

Rudd, unlike Barack Obama, does nothing to inspire confidence in Australia, if anything it is the opposite, especially when you consider that he along with his treasurer Wayne Swan are constantly talking the economy down saying how much shit we are in. Morons, first you throw billions of dollars at us and then you tell us how we are really in a shit and things are only going to get worse. Man, after listening to you guys predicting all that doom and gloom who in their right mind would waste that money. Apart from those people who love the pokies I reckon the bulk of Aussies will use it to help them with their mortgages, help pay off their debts or put it away for a rainy day.

Yep, things will get worse, and it’s not being helped by the fact the the people at the helm haven’t a clue as to what they are doing.

I think it’s about time I posted another joke, just to brighten things up a bit. I got this one in the email today, along with hundreds of spam email that I had to wade through, and I really found it to be quite funny.

A middle-aged man bought a brand new Holden Monaro. He took off down the road, pushed it up to 130 kph, and was enjoying the wind lowing through his (thinning) hair. This is great,’ he thought and accelerated to an even higher speed.

But then he looked in his rear-view mirror, and there was a Police Car behind him, blue and red lights flashing. I can get away from him with no problem’ thought the man and he floored it some more, and flew down the road at over 210 kph to escape being stopped.
Then he thought, ‘What the hell am I doing? I’m too old for this kind of thing’ and pulled over to the side of the road, and waited for the Police car to catch up with him.

The Policeman pulled in behind the Monaro and walked up on the driver’s side.

‘Sir my Shift ends in five minutes and today is Friday the 13th. If you can give me a good reason why you were speeding that I’ve never heard before, I’ll let you go.’
