Hyundai Winning The Global Challenge With The Hyundai Sante Fe

by BS Artist on December 21, 2009

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hyundai. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s amazing that this post follows the previous one that mentioned climate change, global warming and the failings of Rudd’s trip to Copenhagen. The fact is that we are polluting this beautiful world of ours and we should be doing all that we can to limit the amount of pollutants that are released into the atmosphere on a daily basis.

One way that we can help is by buying a car that has some sort of green credentials. One such car is the Hyundai Santa Fe! Naturally they wanted to prove that the Hyundai Santa Fe was a force to be reckoned with and so they entered it into the transcontinental global green challenge.

The challenge took place in Australia and included covering a distance of 3,147 kilometres from Darwin to Adelaide. Imagine the smiles on the guys that developed this car when it won the SUV class of the challenge. I reckon they were absolutely wrapped with that result.

I must admit that when you look at the results, that upon covering that distance in the harsh Australian conditions, after seven days of grueling competition,to have consumed a total of just 160.46 litres of diesel with an emission level of only 137.67 grams of CO2 per kilometre, well that is pretty remarkable.

It is a pleasure when occasionally I get the opportunity to write about something that is going right with the world and not something that is BS. So, in finishing, if you are concerned about climate change, please consider the following points when choosing your next car.

  • You want one that is fuel efficient, as this will save you money as well as the environment.
  • It has to be low on co2 emissions, because the less crap we pump into the atmosphere the better.
  • So, keep this in mind and make sure that the next car you buy is a green car.

Hyundai is a class company, to be sure. My wife has a Hyundai Tucson, and another friend of mine has a Santa Fe. Of course, I’m a rebel, so I have a Kia. lol :drunk_tb:

Always the rebel hey mate? I’ve never had one, but I’m all for getting a greener car and I’ll certainly consider the ‘green’ credentials when buying a new car.

Green is good, but Copenhagen not so good. if you recommend the car, it must have good credentials, Peter.

I didn’t recommend it Peter, and it wouldn’t be possible for me to do so as I’ve never had one. Perhaps if the guys at Hyundai were good enough to let me have one. :wink_ee:

Just posting some stuff I’ve come across.
