Bill Gates Compares Computers To Cars GM Fires Back

This has been around for awhile but I reckon it’s funny enough to do the rounds again.

It happened one day at a computer expo where the infallible Bill Gates compares the computer industry to the auto industry. Bill stated that , “If GM had kept up with technology like those of us in the computer industry we would all be driving $25 cars that would get over 100km to the litre!”

This naturally pisses off General Motors and so first chance they get they release the following statement;

‘Yes, but would you want your car to crash at least twice a day? And there are many other issues to consider, including;

• Every time they repainted the lines on the road you would have to update your car.
• It would be normal for you car to just die on the freeway for absolutely no reason and you would just accept this, restart the car and continue your journey.
• Every now and again whilst executing a maneuver the car would stop and refuse to start again forcing you to re-install the engine. For some reason you would also come to accept this as being normal.
• You could only have one passenger at a time unless you bought ‘Car95′ or ‘CarNT’, but this would force you to buy more seats.
• Macintosh would make a car that ran on solar energy, was more reliable, five times as fast, way more easy to drive but could only run on 5% of the roads.
• This would force Macintosh owners to get expensive Microsoft upgrades for their cars but then their cars would be forced to run a lot slower.
• The oil, gas and alternator lights would be replaced with a single General Car Default warning light.
• New seats would force everyone to have the same sized rear end.
• The air bag system would flash “Are You Sure” before activating.

Yeah Bill, we sure have a lot to be thankful for.
