I have just come across another case of grave injustice. It seems that a handicapped man in Kentucky has just been charged with reckless driving. Nothing unusual you say, except for the fact that the vehicle was his power wheelchair. Not my fault says the man, as the council is to stingy to fix the bloody sidewalks he has no other choice but to drive his wheelchair on the streets.
I don’t see the problem, they allow bikes on the streets so why not wheelchairs, and if they really want these people off the road, maybe they should fix the bloody sidewalks.

Many years ago, my dad got pulled over in his wheelchair at the mall.
He was cited for speeding IN the mall. Not outside the mall, inside the mall.

Now Christine, unless he was dropping wheelies all over the place, that was simply uncalled for. Did they give him a ticket?

No, but the mall rent-a-cop did issue him a warning.
You have to remember though. My father was a biker before he was in a wheelchair. His wheelchair had 5 gears and did almost 35 MPH, so he probably deserved it.

So did he come complete with tattoos and leather jacket? That would be a sight to see.

Believe it or not, yes. Well, the leather jacket was a brown leather jacket, but he had both arms covered in tats.

How evil! He’s about as dangerous as a moth. The only reason they charged him with reckless driving is so he can’t sue the state. They need to settle before this guy charges them with discrimination against the disabled for not provides proper access.

Your kidding? You mean they did it just so he couldn’t sue? Now that is what I call a pretty low despicable act.
